No one has mentioned it on Goodreads, but there is quite a number of sexist remarks in this book, especially in the second essay. I get it, olden days, olden views, but yea… still.
Anyway, I’d rate this book 3/5. It’s a quirky light read comprising of three essays, Love, Beauty and Fame. Some of his opinions on these issues are just downright amusing. And some just get confusing as the essay goes on. There isn’t a structure to his essays but that’s alright, his views do entertain.
An alright one-time read.
