The Humans (Matt Haig)

I completely enjoyed this book.

4.5/5.

A human has discovered a way to propel our technology centuries forward which the aliens come to find out and they send one of their own to remove all evidence of such a discovery.

It’s such a heartwarming story. I love the interactions our unnamed alien has with people. I love his disdain towards people and I absolutely adore how his feelings about humans change over time. It is my favourite thing about this book.

Some level of suspension of belief is required. But the humour, the narration style, the endearing characters are all worth it. It has a heartwarming ending too.

A definite recommended read.

Life, especially human life, was an act of defiance. It was never meant to be, and yet it existed in an incredible number of places across a near-infinite amount of solar systems.
